Rollins has eyes on some 2009 drama
Jimmy Rollins has always had a flair for the dramatic.
He relished every moment of his 38-game hitting streak in 2005-06. He needed a triple in the final game of the ‘07 season to become the first player in baseball history to have 200 hits, 20 doubles, 20 triples, 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases in a season, and he got it. He needed to get his team off to good starts in Game 4 of the ‘08 National League Division Series and Game 5 of the NL Championship Series, and hit leadoff home runs in those series-clinching victories.

Ruiz, Rollins combine to lift Phillies over Braves
Jimmy Rollins kept the replay guys at ESPN busy Sunday night. Outstanding defense will do that. Rollins made two impressive plays in the first inning and turned a heads-up, double play in the eighth that prevented an inning that had a ”crooked number” written all over it.
His defense, coupled with Carlos Ruiz’s 3-for-3 night and Joe Blanton’s quality start lifted the Phillies over the Atlanta Braves, 3-2, at Citizens Bank Park.
”Jimmy knows how to play the game,” Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said.
With one run already in and the Phils clinging to a one-run lead in the top of the eighth, Brian McCann came to the plate. McCann hit a grounder to second baseman Chase Utley, who tossed to Rollins, who was covering second. That forced Chipper Jones out. McCann was still on his way to first, but Rollins chose to fire the ball to third baseman Pedro Feliz instead, with the hope of getting the lead runner, Martin Prado.
